SKINCARE: CLEANSERS

Ever heard the saying “If it’s not broke don’t fix it”? I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED. My skincare routine was fine. It was simple but it was working just fine, I had very few breakouts. But what did I do? I go and decide that I wanna jazz things up. And what was the result? Face demons. Facial eruptions. New found planets ON MY FACE. Well done Kayla, well done.

And so my friends, I have switched from Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water back to this…

DSCN1600Shocker I know – someone not loving the Micellar water! It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just too gentle for my skin. My face always feel nice and soft when I’ve used it but it doesn’t feel as clean as it does after I’ve used the Clean & Clear cleanser. The C&C one feels kind of minty in a way and sometimes it stings on freshly popped spots (ew) but it’s started clearing my face up after only day two of switching back! Oh, it’s cheap too!

After I’ve used that I always use a Clearasil cleansing pad – they’re amazing! I think they’re quite pricey at £5 a tub but you get about 60 pads in there so they do last a while. I’m still going to use the Micellar water but only to remove my eye makeup – it’s great at that!

I think I’m definitely going to stick to these two products for the foreseeable future. I was using the Nivea Daily Essentials range before switching to Garnier, but it wasn’t worth the money in my opinion – I think you should have got a little more product for your money!

What are your holy grail skincare products? Let me know!

Oh god… I feel your pain… I just started with the Oil Cleansing Method (rubbing your skin with an oil mix and then cleaning it off with a hot, damp cloth). So far so good, I hope it stays like this! And don’t worry, your skin will go back to normal 🙂

Oooh you should do a post on it when you’ve been using it for a while to let us know what you think! And I’m please to tell you that it’s certainly improved a lot in the week that I’ve switched back! x

Do you know the most shocking thing about reading your post huni is that I’ve been calling you Leigh for soooooo long *shakes head* when you’re called Kayla – such a beautiful name too!!!! My aplogies huni, I’m getting side tracked by ‘Bambi Leigh’ lol Anyways – I get what you mean about the Micellar water being a tad too gentle – there’s not a huge amount of oomf in it!! I’m still hooked on Olay… can’t get away from it. And the smell oooooh the smell!! Hope your skin returns to norm very soon, Karen XXX

Ahhhh!!! Well, either name is gorgeous 😀 I may call you Bambi, Leigh or Kayla at times huni so you’ll have to bear with me – no offence ever intended, just my head!! lol Oooh, so it has to tingle – never had that sensation I don’t think!! Xo

Let me know what you think!
