OOTD: SHOPPING TRIP

‘Ello poppet. It feels like ages since my last OOTD post (you can see my date night post here) but in reality it’s only been three weeks… So considering I have one day off a week and only wear pyjama bottoms and a baggy baseball tee at home it’s a wonder I have any outfits to post at all!

Last week I found myself perusing Pinterest (which is already a dangerous past time in itself) but then I somehow transitioned from washi tape crafts to the extensive organisational categories… You can imagine the horror or realising how truly unorganised my kitchen cupboards are and the mad dash to the Range that then ensued.

This outfit was a real favourite of mine last autumn so I thought I’d throw it on to try and encourage all this muggy summer type weather to do one! It didn’t work, but at least I tried.

Skater/Swing Dress – New Look (last year)
Baggy Batwing Cardigan – Primark (5 years ago)
Crochet Shoes – Primark (this season)
Perfume – Katy Perry Killer Queen
Necklace – Stolen from Mum!

This may be TMI – but I really needed to shave my legs but was feeling lazy so I put some tights on instead! 😉 I didn’t take a bag as the cardigans pockets are quite large and I only needed my phone, card and keys.

I kept my makeup super simple as I was only going shopping, but I used theBalm’s bronzer in Balm Desert from my BirchBox on the high points of my face and in my crease as eyeshadow and I really liked it! I’m also really enjoying using the Body Shop concealer pencil, but only under the eyes as it’s a bit thick for places like around the mouth – it creases easily but if you use a generous amount of powder to set it you should be good.

And for those organisational freaks out there – yes, my cupboards are now gloriously organised. I even bought a free standing pantry type contraption to free up a bit of space in the cupboard and make use of otherwise dead space. It all looks lovely! I think I should probably ban myself from Pinterest for a good month or so though… my bank balance can’t take much more! 😉

ANOTHER DINNER DATE: OUTFIT & MAKEUP

Hi friends – 50 points to the first person to guess where we went for dinner this week 😉 In my defence even though we ended up at Frankie & Benny’s again I had every intention to have something different… I ended up with the BBQ chicken pizza again. I’m not really sorry either – it was so nice! You can check out my previous date night outfit here – it seems I made up for the lack of black from last time with this outfit…

It was still pretty warm so I went with this nice airy crochet back maxi dress from Very’s ‘Resort’ line last year. It’s pretty basic; floor length with an elasticated waist band (which is strangely flattering), so I only took a picture of the interesting crochet bit at the back! Ideally I’d of worn one of those weird bras that only has the cups and kind of sticks to your tatas, but I didn’t have one. I have no shame showing a bit of bra every now and then anyway – it’s no secret that most women wear one.

nsgI clearly wasn’t in a very colourful mood and took my cute little hedgehog bag from Camden Market and wore my black crochet dolly shoes from Primark. For jewelerry I opted for an amber bracelet, necklace and ring all from various retailers. It was far too hot to be faffing around with my hair so I just shoved it all on top of my head in a bun and popped a bun garland from Primark round it to make it look as if I’d put a bit of effort in!

DSCN2247For my makeup I used Maybelline’s Baby Skin Instant Fatigue Blur Primer, Bourjois’ Healthy Mix Serum and Seventeen’s Stay Time Concealer – you can read a full comparison of Seventeen’s concealer to Collection’s here! I used my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanant Taupe for my brows and set everything with Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder.
For my eyeshadow I covered my whole lid in Maybelline’s Color Tattoo in Pink Gold and then went back to my trusty Tartlette palette and used Free Spirit on the inner corner, Power Player in the crease and Fashionista as eyeliner. I followed up with a few coats of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara (full review here) and off we went!

DINNER DATE: OUTFIT & MAKEUP

Hi pals. I really enjoyed putting together my last/first ever outfit post so I thought I’d do another for you today! This time we skipped the movie and headed straight for Frankie & Bennies, where we had the exact same thing as last time. No regrets folks. I just couldn’t stop thinking about those fries, and the salted caramel cheesecake for dessert was even better than before! And to make it even sweeter they forgot to charge us for dessert and coffee, so it was about £15 cheaper! Anyway, on with the outfit…

We’ve been having quite the heatwave in the UK this past week (we reached 31c!) so I opted for a navy/nude dress from New Look, which I got about two years ago. I can’t remember what belt came with the dress originally but it has two little belt loops on either side so it must have had one at some point, but I picked a simple tan belt from Primark which matched my brown/tan Peacocks bag and cut out brown Primark shoes. It was lovely and comfortable throughout the meal and had enough give in the waist to make way for the bloating that followed!

DSCN2248I kept my accessories simple and wore my matching Links Of London necklace and bracelet, and a floral headband. My perfume for the evening was JLO Glow – perfect for summer!

DSCN2241For my makeup I used the Body Shop’s Tea Tree Lotion, Look Beauty’s Perk Me Up Primer, Maybelline’s Better Skin Foundation and Seventeen’s Stay Time Concealeryou can read a full comparison of Seventeen’s concealer to Collection’s here! I used my Maybelline Color Tattoo in Permanant Taupe for my brows and set everything with Rimmel’s Stay Matte Powder.
For my eyeshadow I decided I’d better give my Tartlette palette the night off and used Makeup Revolution’s Redemption Palette in Romantic Smoked – I used mainly shades 2, 3, 5 and 7. A few coats of Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara (full review here) and I was good to go!

Again, another night of off the Slimming World plan but it just means I have to be even better behaved for the rest of the week! Please leave me a comment and let me know what kind of things you get up to on date night! And by that I mean out of the house… with clothes on… Okay bye

DATE NIGHT: OUTFIT & MAKEUP

Hi chummiest chums. I thought I’d try something a bit different today and share my date night outfit with you! Unfortunately I couldn’t get any shots of my outfit on the night and there’s no where in my flat where I could take a decent picture so I’ve just had to lay the clothes out on the floor… such an amateur! 😉 I’d of liked to have gotten a few pictures of the food we had too but it disappeared way too quickly.

line

What I’m about to say might shock you – we went to the cinema. I know, I’m just as flabbergasted/horrified as you are. If you have no clue why this is a big deal read my post on why I hate the cinema; and I can confirm that all of those reasons are still very applicable and it was an uncomfortable experience. But don’t worry, I comforted myself with Frankie & Bennies BBQ chicken pizza and some salted caramel cheesecake afterwards… oops.

PicMonkey Collage
Even though it was quite warm/humid on Friday I opted for my blue Asos Ridley Jeans as it’s always cold in both the cinema and Frankie & Bennies, but I rolled the bottoms up a little so you could see my anklets. I also wore a ‘Long Line’ Black Vest from Matalan to tie in with my Crochet Dolly Shoes from New Look and Black Sheepskin Bag from Next and then I threw my Matalan Floral Kimono over the top to hide the Frankie & Bennies food baby that would inevitably be making an appearance.

DSCN2166
I really didn’t want to spend long on my makeup as I’d be sitting in a dark room, so I used simple base products, Maybelline’s Colour Tattoo in my brows (love this for brows at the moment!), Free Spirit, Natural Beauty and Dreamer from the Tartelette palette, a touch of Rimmel’s Scandaleyes Eyeliner and my current favourite mascara.

line
I’m still drooling over the thought of the gorgeous pizza and cheese and bacon fries from F&B’s… completely off the Slimming World plan but I thought I could make an exception for the day seeing as how I’ve got 5lb more to lose and I’ve lost my first stone!

I really would have liked to get some shots of my makeup as well as my outfit but my camera doesn’t take makeup shots very well – it’s almost as if it can’t detect eyeshadow! I hope you enjoyed this post anyway, I’ve never done an OOTD before so I wasn’t really sure where to start or how to photograph the clothes, but I had fun doing it and I guess that’s all that matters!

IMAGINARY HAUL – VERY VIP DESIGNER EXCLUSIVE

‘Ello munchkins. Don’t you think Friday has come around quickly this week?! Not that I’m complaining – I have Friday’s off so I’m more than chuffed!
I recently received an email from Very telling me that they were giving me 50% off of the spring/summer 2015 designer collection. I’m sure most people would have fallen over themselves trying to reach their laptops to take advantage of this pretty amazing discount, but I’m not a designer girl. This may provoke an angry mob; but I don’t like designer things… not for the most part anyway. But I had a spare 20 minutes between work shifts so I thought I’d take a little gander and I was shocked to find a few bits I actually loved!

very
But let’s not forget this is a designer preview and even with the discounts applied everything’s still way too expensive, even with the ‘take 3’ option. So rather than get myself in debt I figured I’d come and share with you guys!

PicMonkey CollageEmma Go – Tri Tone Jazz Shoe

I wasn’t sure of these when I first saw them, but the more I look at them the more I really really really really really want to put them on my feet. I love the little cutout at the front! I’ve never heard of ‘Emma Go’ before, but that doesn’t really mean anything when you don’t pay attention to designers. For £135 I’d be so scared of scuffing them I’d probably never wear them, even if I could afford them!

Calvin Klein – Croc Effect Cross Body Bag

Calvin Klein is obviously a designer everybody’s heard of – everyone knows of the CK boxers! I love bags like this that go with everything and it should wear pretty well as it’s got a patterned effect rather than being plain – patterns hide wear and tear! I’m not sure how big the bag actually is, but ‘mini’ makes me think I’d be lucky to get my keys and my phone in there; for £180 I’d want a lot more than that! It is nice though…

Aamaya by Priyanka – Cat Ears Ring

I’ve seen a ton of ‘3D’ rings simular to this lately but really liked the detailing on the ears on this cute little kitty one… just not for £220.

PicMonkey Collage2

Equipment – Long Sleeve Shirt in Citrus Print

I really love this shirt! I saw something simular on ASOS ages ago and I really regret not getting it. It would look so sweet with the sleeves rolled up and tucked into a skater skirt with some jelly shoes and cool accessories! But it’s £305… that’s nearly half my rent!

Karl Lagerfeld – Monster Choupette Zip Wallet

This is too cute! I rarely use a purse anymore but if I had this I’m sure that would change! The design itself would be quite easy to replicate for the advanced crafter, but I bet the quality’s amazing; it wants to be for £165 anyway!

line

Ohhh I do love to play pretend; I haven’t spent a penny, but I feel strangely cleansed. I feel as if I’ve just got on a major shopping spree and I have that ‘new stuff’ buzz haha! The more I look over the bits I picked out the more I want them… Surely I’m not starting to lust over designer gear – what’s happening to me! I better go and watch Primark hauls on YouTube pronto 😉
